Is there a charity aspect to the festival?
Yes. Flour City Brewer's Fest has been supporting Holiday Outreach (www.holidayoutreach.org) since 1996.  During the holiday season, the team at Holiday Outreach uses funds raised during various events held throughout the year to provide food to area food pantries and soup kitchens and provide gifts for children in the Rochester, NY area. The board members and other volunteers shop for food, toys and clothes to be distributed during the holiday season. Volunteers also assist in the wrapping and distribution of these gifts.

Proceeds also benefit the New York State Brewers Association (NYSBA), which serves as a promotional and legislative proponent for New York State breweries, microbreweries, farm breweries, brewpubs and brewing affiliated businesses. The growth of the Craft Beer segment continues to be strong and New York State's share of that growth has exceeded that of breweries on the national level.
